Our Big Idea
User
Busy student from wellington juggling full-time study and part-time work. They are interesting in learning, but because they learn all day at uni in their spare time they want to take a break and catch up with friends.
Needs
A fun and engaging way to learn about New Zealand history that motivates them to take a break out of their busy schedual to visit Te Papa.
Insight
The user is interested in NZ history and wants to learn more but Te Papa isn't accessible because it closes at 6pm and the way information is displayed at Te Papa isn't engaging for millennials. Currently the Te Papa expereince is exsausting because of the over load of information.
Our big idea
"Te Papa at night"
For Te Papa to host fortnightly quiz nights that connect people from different areas of expertise through an app. We want this to be a way for people to learn about New Zealand in a fun and casual environment so that it feels like a break rather than a chore.
This quiz night will always incorparate questions from the current exhibitions as a way to encourage people to visit Te Papas exhibitions, as well current events.
People will be able to submit question, nominate their special expertise and give feedback as a way to contribute to the expereince.
Each team will be able to select a person from history who will join them (dressed up actor) they will have specific knowledge that may or may not be helpful.
To document the new connections made during the night there will be a photobooth which each team can get team photos, a keep sake of the night.
