Group Quiz Night 'Research'

As a group, we went to a quiz night at the Southern Cross bar to see potential pros and cons of a quiz night in engaging millennials. Here is what we found out:

Firstly, quiz nights tend to be aimed at an older audience as they have gathered more general knowledge. We could give our quiz a modern/ current twist to engage millennials and provide a point of difference from other quiz nights. (We teamed up with some other millennials we didn't know and still lost!).

We also found that this quiz night had rather an intimidating atmosphere at first. All the tables were full because people has come for dinner before the quiz and we hadn't, a booking system would be ideal. Approaching new people to share a table was also intimidating, especially if they were people older than us.

The quiz also went for a couple of hours, which dragged on, especially seeing as we didn't know anything and didn't feel like we could really contribute. Perhaps there is a good opportunity to re-think the way a quiz night could operate to suit our age group.

However, we did learn some interesting facts, met some new people, and had a good time overall (especially drinking the tequila sunrise).
